Beak O II
38 x 58cm
Silvy Weatherall is a Galloway artist who finds use for objects that have lost their function or have been discarded. Inspired from finding a cat skeleton on the roadside during a community litter pick, Silvy started collecting road kill and skulls.
In this piece grouse beaks have been carefully cleaned and arranged in a circle on a bright red background, framed in an offset glass frame. These game bird bones are a by product of Silvy's family game dealing business. Her eye for detail and love of geometric shapes brings each beak together to produce this absorbing creation.
